Report of Meeting with Private Sector on Identify Zoning and Dive to Monitor Fisheries Resource at Nataya Resort in Kampot
Abstract
Meeting with Private Sector for Identifying zoning and monitoring fisheries resource status at Nataya Resort in Kampot was conducted by Fisheries Administration on 2-6 March 2019. The meeting attended by 10 participants, including leaders and officer from Department of fisheries Conservation, FiAC in Kampot, and Wildlife Earth Allie. Taking into account the objectives of MFMA, There are 4 zones in MFMA including as follow: 1) Protected Area: it is an outside of CFi; 2) Community Area: it is small scale fishing for the community; 3) Fisheries Refugia Area: it is needed to protect during critical fish life cycle; and 4) Ecotourism Area: it is an area to increase tourism to visit coral reef. In conclusion, Nataya Resort will jointly work a management plan with FiA, FiAC and WEA organization in order to ensure sustainable marine fisheries resource management.
