Report of the Third Meeting of Site-Based Fisheries Refugia Management Board in Surat Thani Province

Abstract

The 3rd meeting of Site-based Fisheries Refugia Management Board in Surat Thani Province for the Project entitled “Establishment and Operation of a Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand” was organized by Chumphon Fisheries Research and Development Center, Department of Fisheries on 14th December 2021 at Wang Tai Hotel, Surat Thani Province There were a total of 40 participants joining the meeting, including board committee, resource persons, project officers, and observers from Department of Fisheries and private sectors. The meeting was focusing on Progress of Project Implementation; Notification of Surat Thani Provincial Fisheries Committee; Case Study on Community-based Management in Coastal Fishing Area of Ban Pak Don Sak, Don Sak Subdistrict, Don Sak District, Surat Thani Province; Nomination of the members of Fisheries Refugia Operational Management Board in Koh Sed, Phum Riang Subdistrict, Chaiya District, Surat Thani Province; and Terms of Reference for Fisheries Refugia Operational Management Board in Koh Sed, Phum Riang Subdistrict, Chaiya District, Surat Thani Province.
