This report is under the SEAFDEC/UNEP/GEF Project on “Establishment and Operation of a Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand”en
Fisheries management measures in Indonesia have long been familiar with the components of fisheries refugia. These measures are revealed from various regulations governing the utilization and management of fish resources in Indonesia, such as marine spatial planning, fisheries management plans, management of coastal areas and small islands, and regulation of the use of fishing gear and total allowable catch. The policy regulations are prepared and rolled out to ensure the community's welfare and the sustainability of existing resources. This report will explain several regulations relating to fisheries refugia, especially in FMA 711 as part of the project activities "Establishment and Operation of a Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand", covering the waters of West Kalimantan and Bangka Belitung.en
