This report is a part of an online regional training course on deck machinery and hauling devices on deck to reduce manpower in fishing vessels and enhance safety in fishing operations organized through the Zoom platform under the situation of the Corona Virus-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic to the Southeast Asian region and all over the world.&#13;

This online training course was envisaged to gather and update the technical information on capabilities to transfer the knowledge gained from the training program. It could be ways forward for improving hauling devices based on the hydraulic system in the respective area. It is noted that this training will be undertaken online. Participants are relevant working experiences in machinery or engineering from SEAFDEC Member Countries. The online training was granted by the Japanese Trust Fund 6, Phase II. There were 3 sessions at the online training: (1) Technical knowledge (2) Online demonstration (3) Discussion/evaluation. This report summarizes the main points made during the presentation and discussions on 5 -6 May 2021.

In the industrialized nations and affluent regions in the developing world, refrigeration is chiefly used to store foodstuffs at low temperatures, thus inhibiting the destructive action of bacteria, yeast, and mold.  Many perishable products may be frozen, permitting them to be kept for months and even years with little loss in nutrition or flavor or change in appearance.  Why do substances become cool? We feel cold when our skin is sterilized by alcohol before we have an injection.  This because the alcohol on the skin is evaporated into the vapor state by the heat, which is absorbed from skin.  The heat that is required to evaporate the liquid to vaporize is called latent heat of evaporation.  Latent heat is the characteristic amount of energy absorbed or released by a substance during a change in its physical state that occurs without changing its temperature.
