Report of Technical Training Program on Biological Studies of Short Mackerel
Abstract
To enhance the capacity of government officers Technical Training Program on Biological Studies of Short Mackerel was conducted by Fisheries Administration in cooperation with the SEAFDEC/PCU, at Koh Kong, on 12-14 February 2019. 13 participants, including SEAFDEC, FIA, and FIAC in Kep, Kampot, and Preh Sihanouk attended the Training Workshop. The results are understanding of the following issues; 1) the role, responsibility, and skill working at FiAC and FiA; 2) Biology of Short Mackerel and Introduction of Morphological Study, as well as the sampling methodology at landing sites and species identification; 3) Maturity stage identification; and Stomach content; 4) record and sampling procedures for plankton, larval and juvenile fish by zooplankton net; and 5) operation of Drone.
