Local Consultation Workshops on Fisheries Refugia Boundary and Management Planning in Surat Thani Site
Abstract
Local consultation workshops on fisheries refugia boundary and management planning in Surat Thai Site under the project entitled “Establishment and Operation of a Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand” were co-organized by Chumphon Fisheries Research and Development Center and Surat Thani Fisheries Provincial Office during 9 – March 2021 with 409 participants. These workshops were on-site conducted in all of the 7 coastal districts of Surat Thani mainland, namely, Chaiya, Tha Chang, Tha Chana, Don Sak, Kanchanadit, Muang, and Phunphin, aimed at enhancing local involvement in fisheries refugia boundary delineation and management planning in Surat Thani Site The conclusions were to be prepared for further consideration on policy guidance by Provincial Fisheries Committee.
