Local consultation workshops on fisheries Refugia boundary and management planning in Trat Site under the Fisheries Refugia project were co-organized by Trat Fisheries Provincial Office and Eastern Gulf Fisheries Research and Development Center (Rayong) and Department of Fisheries during 13 – 18 July 2020 with 385 participants. These workshops were on-site conducted in all of the 5 coastal districts of Trat Province, namely Muang District, Laem Ngop District, Khlong Yai District, Koh Chang District, and Koh Kut District, aimed at enhancing local involvement in fisheries Refugia boundary delineation and management planning in the site. Tentative fisheries Refugia boundaries and management plans were proposed for discussions, and conclusions were finally done upon mutual agreement in each district. The conclusions will be further prepared for consideration at the Provincial Fisheries Committee meeting for policy guidance prior to submission to the next authority committee.
