In 2021, the Department of Fisheries Conservation of the Fisheries Administration (DFC/FiA) achieved working activities related to stakeholder consultation meeting of the establishment of fisheries refugia in Kampot province, site based management board meeting, releasing the brood stock of blue swimming crab into the nature, dissemination and law enforcement. In particular, the DFC/FiA also deployed concrete boxes into refugia sites. Also, other businesses have been done with SEAFDEC/PCU related to the process of the implementation of the fisheries refugia in the region level. On the other hand, there were some challenges regarding the Covid 19 situation and the change of new provincial governor. This could affect the project implementation.
