Report on the Eighth Regional Training Course for Fishery Extension Officers in Marine Fisheries Extension Methodology
Abstract
The Training Department has conducted regional training programs for fishery extension officer since 1981, with assistance from the Royal Netherlands Government under the SIR/DSO Program. Seven training courses, with a total of 154 participant from ten countries in the South and Southeast Asia regions, were organized by the Department between 1981 and 1986.
Under its program for 1987, the training Department organized the Eighth Regional Training Couse for Fishery Extension Officers from 12 October to 25 November 1987. The emphasis of this courses was placed in marine fisheries and extension methodology, which is of great importance to the countries in the South and Southeast Asian regions.
