Abstract
Choosing the optimum size propeller for a small boat is no easy task, because it involves rather complicated factors and calculations. Moreover, sufficient tank test data are harder to obtain than for a large boat. There is often a need to have an approximate estimate of the boat speed and propeller dimensions. This paper will provide an did to obtaining such information and will give a general idea of this matter. However, detailed information on a specific boat design and propeller dimensions should be obtained from the manufacturers.
