dc.descriptionIn support of the conclusion of country and learning site activities under the USAID Oceans and Fisheries Partnership (USAID Oceans), four Philippines-based project closeout activities were completed during January and February 2020: (1) launch of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) 12 Fisheries Monitoring (FishMon) Center in General Santos City on January 27, 2020; (2) tour of the BFAR Integrated Marine Environment Monitoring System (IMEMS) FishMon Center on February 4-5, 2020 at the Navotas Fish Port Complex; (3) Partner Recognition and Handover Workshop convened in Quezon City on February 5, 2020; and (4) Electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability Technology Showcase convened in partnership with the USAID Fish Right Project in Iloilo City on February 11, 2020. At all the events, major Philippines partners under the project participated, including: BFAR Central Office, BFAR Region 12 Office, fishers from the Alliance of Tuna Handliners (ATH), SOCSKSARGEN Federation of Fishing and Allied Industries, Inc. (SFFAII), seafood and technology private sector partners, Local Government Units from Southern Mindanao, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations (CSO), and academia. This report summarizes the sessions and outputs from all four project closeout events conducted with partners in the Philippines.en
