Description
In coordination with SEAFDEC and the Thailand Department of Fisheries, USAID Oceans conducted a Regional Technical Guidance Workshop on Electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability (eCDT) on December 2-4, 2019, in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop brought ASEAN member country government, NGO, and private sector representatives together to: (1) finalize the “Technical Guidance on the Design and Implementation of Electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability Systems in Southeast Asia”; (2) review and finalize national eCDT roadmaps for ASEAN countries in the process of designing, testing, and implementing national eCDT technologies and systems; and (3) share experiences and lessons on developing and testing eCDT technologies across Southeast Asia. The workshop was co-hosted by USAID Oceans and SEAFDEC in Bangkok, Thailand, and attended by 52 participants, including 20 governmental agency officials from 5 of the 10 ASEAN member countries (Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Thailand), as well as non-governmental and private sector partners.
