Abstract
The Annual Meeting for the project "Improving Fishers’ Livelihood and Fisheries Co-management in Inland and Coastal Small-scale Fisheries" was held from 2 to 3 December 2025 in Vientiane, Lao PDR, to review 2025 progress and finalize the 2026 work plan. Attended by 11 representatives from SEAFDEC/TD, SEAFDEC/IFRDMD, and focal points from Cambodia, Thailand, and Lao PDR, the meeting focused on strengthening project implementation through the identification of lessons learned and enhanced regional coordination. A key component of the program was a study visit to the Nam Xouang Reservoir, a successful pilot site for fisheries co-management and alternative livelihood development, which facilitated the exchange of best practices among participants. By integrating field-based insights with strategic planning, the meeting provided a framework for improving future project guidance and ensuring the sustainability of small-scale fisheries livelihoods across the participating member countries.

The Annual Meeting of the project “Improving Fishers’ Livelihood and Fisheries Co-management in Inland and Coastal Small-scale Fisheries” was organized from 2 to 3 December 2025 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The main objectives were to review progress at the pilot sites in 2025, identify challenges and lessons learned to strengthen project implementation, plan and confirm activities for 2026, and enhance knowledge sharing and coordination among SEAFDEC Departments and national focal points.
