dc.description.abstract | As a whole, the project has progressed on the right track compatible with the project design, and the process for project phasing out has being advanced as expected. The activities have been carried out are listed as follow:
- The registration of the Pakklong Fishermen’s Group (PFG) with the Chumphon Provincial Cooperative Promotion Office (PCPO) was under the name of PhakklongAquaculturists’ Group (PAG). The new committee mambers of PAG were elected at the 1st PAG meeting. So far, 67 members of PFG have joined the PAG.
- The study tour to Japan was jointly organized by the NPO group in Japan and SEAFDEC/TD to observe mainly the CBFRM approach to various activities undertaken by the Japanese fishermen’s cooperatives.
- Regular monitoring surveys have been conducted as planned.
- Three experiments conducted were babylonia shell culture, swimming crab culture and comparative fish culture with different types of feeding.
- The women’s group activity is progressing well.
- The training in local enforcement activities was held in Pakkong, but the planned establishment of the Local Enforcement Unit (LEU) is still far from reality.
- The 10 sets of FEDs were installed to test its durability.
- A total of 1.5 million tiger-prawn postlarvae were released
- The 3rd SC meeting was held.
- The 9th IC meeting was held.
- The study tour team from the sister project in Cambodia visited the project site to observe the activity and exchange views with the PFG members.
- The project staff and leading PFG members participated in various seminars and workshops organized both in the country and abroad. | en |
