dc.description.abstract | The rehabilitation from the tsunami assault has made good progress and fisherman are now convinced that the fishing activity has been resumed to the extent of 70-80% compared with the pre-tsunami condition. The main progress achieved during this reporting period features formulation of the draft on Fishery Resources Management Plan with participation of fishers’ group. The reconstruction of the jetty was completed by the Drainage and Irrigation Department, Langkawi The data collection for fish landing and marine biological survey were conducted routinely. The organization of Fishery Resources Management Committee (FRMC) within KEN was established and the formulation of the Fishery Resources Management Plan (FRMP) by them is in progress with technical assistance from DOF and SEAFDEC/TD. | en |
