Bi-annual Project Progress Report of Integrated Coastal Resources Management in Pulau Langkawi (July-December 2006)
Description
The main progress achieved during this reporting period features that the consensus on the proposed Fisheries Resources Management Plan was reached at the Stakeholders Consultation. The mid-term socio-economic survey was conducted. More positive participation to the marine biological survey by FRI, Penang, was raised and it was committed. 100,500 mangrove saplings were planted in Kuala Teriang by KEN. The function of Local Enforcement Unit commenced with the limited scale. The responsibility of fishery Mcs services has been transferred from DOF to newly established Malaysian Maritime Agency.
