dc.description.abstractThis section contains a list of some important economical fish species, both pelagic and demersal. There are 18 pelagic and 7 demersal species. These fish are dominant in Malaysian and Thai Waters. The information for each species includes name, characteristics, biological & distribution, fishing gears used and total landing quantities. The total landings are derived from statistical data obtained 1985-1994, also included are minimum, maximum, and average catches, as well as a brief annotation on their state of exploitation and utilization.en
