Report on the Seventh Regional Training Course for Fishery Extension Officers in Marine Capture Fisheries

Abstract

The training Department has conducted regional training courses for fishery extension officers since 1981, with assistance from the Royal Netherlands Government under the SIR Program. Six training courses with a total of 140 fishery officers from the countries in the South and Southeast Asian regions, were organized by the Department between 1981 and 1985. Under its program for 1986, the training Department organized the Seventh Regional training course for Fishery Extension officers from 5 November to 19 December 1986. The emphasis of this course was placed on marine fishing technology which is of great importance to the countries in the South and Southeast Asian regions.
