Report of the Thai-Japanese-SEAFDEC Joint Oceanographic and Trawling Survey in the Gulf of Thailand On-board Nagasaki-Maru (15-28 May 1980)
Abstract
The Training Department of the Southeast Asian Fishineries Development Center (SEAFDEC) organized a Consultative Meeting on Fisheries Education and Training is Southeast Asian, Bangkok, in 1979, The Meeting was attended by representatives of the Governments as well as of fishery training institutions in the Region. The meeting recommended the promotion of cooperation among fishery training institution tin the Region, with a view to improving and strengthening fishery training activities in the countries.
As a follow-up to the recommendation, SEAFDEC, with financial contributions from FAO and the FAO/SIDA Bay of Bengal Small-scale Fisheries Programme, sent a mission consisting of Mr. Y. Miyake, Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation, Japan, and Capt. VudhiSudhasaneya, Head of the Training Division, Training Department, SEAFDEC, to certain countries in the region, in November 1980.
